Building Bridges with Friends of Isaac

Friends of Isaac

APN Recruitment is proud to announce that we are now acting as a permanent donation point for Friends of Isaac’s Food Bank, a local community group dedicated to supporting people in need.

Isaac, a young lad from Redditch, had the idea to help the struggling community in November 2020 before the second lockdown. Storing donations in a tiny pop-up greenhouse on the family home’s driveway, Isaac was able to assist locals unable to make ends meet over the Christmas period. With the love and support of his family, friends, and the wider community, Isaac’s operation has grown into three sheds on the driveway, and they are always open to those in need of assistance during trying times. To see what Isaac can accept for donations, please check out the pinned post on his Facebook page:

Our very own director, Aimee Morris, has herself made a massive contribution in the form of donations to Isaac’s cause, and, as APN shares in the sentiments of Isaac’s motto, ‘take if you need, share if you have spare’, we are now acting as a donation point from those able to supply any of the items above. We hope that we can help boost Isaac’s contribution to those falling on hard times by collecting as many of these vital goods from the community at large.

On 10th April 2022, Isaac will have a pre-loved toy table at the Easter Extravaganza, which will be taking place between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm at Rocklands Social Club in Redditch. The event organisers, Light up Redditch and Bromsgrove, will make no profit and will be using all funds made from the tombola and raffle towards their next event to ensure families that can access affordable activities.

To request a support package if you or anyone you know are unable to visit us or Isaac and co in person, you can fill in the following form to have your donation package delivered to your home:

Building Bridges Redditch CIC

In other news, Aimee had a very productive meeting last week with the founders of Building Bridges Redditch CIC, a community supermarket that is helping to support the local community. Membership costs just £1.00 per year, providing free food to those in need, and APN has been collaborating with them to see how we can support the amazing work they do. We will also be acting as a donation point in the foreseeable future. Our plan is to contact local MPs in order to get them onboard in providing more support during an ever-growing food crisis in our local community.

They have recently held a very successful pizza making day at Woodrow Library with the help of donations received from Morrisons Redditch – but it’s not all just about food for your stomach. On 1st March 2022, Building Bridges will be supplying food for kids’ brains too, putting boxes of books outside their community supermarket so that your children can select a free book to take home. They will also be holding a Mother’s Day colouring competition, where the winner will win their mum a hamper of goodies. As with all of their competitions, there will be no losers – the runners-up will also receive a gift for their mum. There will be one colouring page per child, and all you will need to do is tell them Mum’s name when you collect. Further updates regarding this event will be posted on their Facebook page, here:

And, of course, if you are able to donate any spare goods to either Isaac’s or Building Bridge’s causes, please feel free to drop by to APN’s office, or visit these fantastic folks in person!
